Battery-electric vehicles generally require less engine-related maintenance because they do not have conventional engine oil, spark plugs, or exhaust systems. However, they still have tires, brakes, cabin filters, windshield washer fluid, suspension components, and often coolant circuits that require attention.

Do Not Forget the Battery

A weak 12-volt battery is a common source of starting and electrical problems. This applies not only to traditional gasoline cars but also to many hybrids and EVs, which use a low-voltage battery to power computers and activate vehicle systems.
